How to Do the Downward-Facing Dog Leg Lift

  1. Begin in a Downward-Facing Dog Pose (link). Your arms and feet should be planted firmly on the ground.
  2. Slowly raise one of your legs behind you.
  3. Try to plant your other foot’s heel on the floor. Keep your arm straight. Feel the position stretching your leg muscles and hamstrings. Take note: try to maintain an equal amount of weight in both your arms.
  4. Hold the position and take deep breaths.
